Hello and Happy 2017!
I am back from the States and swinging into action here in Zambia! It was great to be with family over the holidays.
But almost as soon as I got back, we got into the swing of things with gap year students and I have to say that every day that passes, I remember why I chose to do youth ministry. Youth are funny, and open, and raw, and honest, and emotional but I love them for it.
Until next time with love to all,
For a one-stop shop for all my links, check out my tumblr page. Ps. Watch out for a blog revamp. It's on its way.
Among other things, I am in charge of Wednesday morning exercises where we are working up to running a local 10k. I am also in charge of art class--it has been fun and therapeutic!
I was given the funds for a wifi router for Christmas. I have to say life is A LOT easier with internet. Tho it is still very limited because of cost.
I taught classes for 4 days at the beginning of the gap year program. We learned about ourselves by doing personality tests, conflict styles, love languages, worship styles, and self-examination practices. Even a little bit of yoga.
Thank you to all who gave to the Year End giving campaign! I did not raise enough to buy a car, but in the mean time, I get lots of funny stories from the camped buses. For example, the whole bus started a game of "guess the mzungu's age" lol
During Youth Camp, I taught a lesson on Knowing Who We are in Christ. It inspired some of the musically talented youth to make a song! Check it out!
Please pray for:
We are pretty short on Gap Year students at the moment so we are putting lots of the weekly programs for them on hold until we have about 20 students. So please pray for more students to come! They have been trickling in...we are at 15 now :)
Pray for team dynamics that we will gel so that we can serve the students best!
